Additions to the family....!

We at Camilleri Kitchen can now boast of a wide assortment of pies, with over 20 fillings, ranging from Chicken & Mushroom to Moroccon to the award winning Gold medallist, Steak & Stilton Pie! We are proud of all our creations. But we don’t stop there!

In our endeavours to gratify our clients’ wishes, we strive to create more and more variations that will satisfy the palate of the discerning customer in pubs, restaurants and hotels who insists on savouring a Camilleri Kitchen pie.

With this in mind, we are placing on the market, a new pie, with a combination of short-crust and puff pastry, in individual portions. These pies come with Chicken & Mushroom, Steak & Vegetables and Steak & Kidney. They can be supplied either cooked frozen or cooked fresh but we also entertain requests for raw frozen deliveries.

We have no doubt that these latest additions will prove to be as popular as the other individual pies in our ever-growing range.

In an on-going endeavour to offer more quality products to our clients, we have launched a new product to add to our growing range of savoury creations.

The Sausage Roll is now being produced in our new unit in Eastbourne. Our search for excellence in producing the humble sausage roll has taken us some time in turning out the perfect appetizing treat.

Made out of sausage meat wrapped in puff pastry, our Sausage Roll comes in 5 fillings; Pork, Pork & Apple, Pork & Garlic, Pork & Chillie and Pork, Caramelized Onion & Stilton.

Our Camilleri Kitchen Sausage Roll is being sold raw frozen or individually wrapped cooked fresh.

The British Pie Awards

THE BRITISH PIE AWARDS - hosted and organised by the Melton Mowbray Pork Pie Association

The 2013 British Pie Awards are fast approaching and are now open for entries.

The awards, now in their fifth year, invite entries from all professional butchers and bakers to take part in these industry awards and comprise of 20 individual classes of pie – with pie makers competing to be crowned the ultimate ‘Champion of Champions’. More than 900 pies were entered last year from over 140 producers and judged by a panel of 90 experts.

The 2013 awards take place in Melton Mowbray at the end of April. This year judging takes place on Wednesday 24th April, and successful pie makers from each class will be invited to an all new Awards Pie Lunch on Thursday 25th April.

In addition to the new Awards Pie Lunch for 2013, new classes have been added to the line up including new chicken categories and a brand new ‘free from’ speciality pie class has also been launched – open to all sweet or savoury, gluten or wheat free pies.

Matthew O’Callaghan, chairman of the Melton Mowbray Pork Pie Association, commented: “We were absolutely delighted with the response from British pie makers in 2012. Looking to the future, the new classes for 2013 make sure that we are keeping abreast of industry developments and trends, and I’m sure we will see many entries in this area. Encouraged by last year’s success and hoping to emulate it, Camilleri Kitchen is this year also participating with a variety of pies prepared with some of our delicious fillings. Fully aware we will be facing stiff competition from some of the best pie makers around, we are confident we will be turning more than a few heads this year!
